Youth Pastor Job Description

Praise Tabernacle Bible Church of Chino, CA seeks an energetic and enthusiastic YOUTH PASTOR to join the pastoral staff and assist in the overall mission of the church to win the Inland Empire for Christ.  The Youth Pastor will assume responsibility for developing, administering and evaluating a comprehensive youth ministry designed to meet the spiritual, social and emotional needs of our youth, leading them to develop a committed relationship with Jesus Christ, and assisting them in developing the disciplines that will result in spiritual and personal maturity.

Reporting directly to the Sr. Pastor-Teacher, the Youth Pastor will work closely and collaboratively with the Elders and other church leaders to grow and shepherd the PTBC community.  This is a part-time position.

Position Description/Job Duties

• Develop and administer a comprehensive youth ministry.
• Design, facilitate and evaluate effective youth programs incorporating fellowship, praise & worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, and evangelism.
• Develop, as a priority, an educational and experiential experience for the youth that focuses on missions and other community service opportunities.
• Serve as primary teacher for the youth ministry.
• Recruit and train parents for involvement in youth ministry in a way that encourages partnership and commitment.
• Disciple and mentor youth in their relationship with the Lord, including the development of skills to display their spiritual maturity within PTBC and the greater community.
• Create, facilitate and evaluate outreach events that appeal to and draw in the unsaved.
• Assist in the development and oversight of the youth ministry budget.
• Faithfully attend PTBC church services and church activities.  Involve family in the life of the church.
• Produce semi-annual ministry update reports to pastoral staff.
• Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Pastor-Teacher.

 Ministry/Personal Qualifications

• Clearly demonstrated testimony of faith in Jesus Christ
• Exhibits a personal and growing relationship with God, a teachable spirit, and a healthy family life
• Meets Biblical qualifications of a leader according to 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1
• Committed to the ministry beliefs of Praise Tabernacle Bible Church (http://praisetab.org/ourbelief.html)
• Demonstrated special concern for youth and their spiritual lives
• Self-motivated leader, capable of creating, casting and imparting vision for ministry, possessing relational skills with students, parents and church staff
• Demonstrated passion for evangelism and outreach, both personally and at the ministry level
• Provide counseling and spiritual direction to youth on an individual basis
• Extensive experience in teaching Biblical principles and concepts to youth
• Excellent public speaking, written communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to be available to attend local middle and high school events in support of students
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of church leadership
• Spiritual gifts relevant to the position of ministry
• Effective organizational and program development skills
• Strong collaborative spirit
• Successful youth ministry experience preferred
• BA degree preferred
